Jamaica, October 7, 2014 - Heritage Education Funds International (Jamaica) Limited a proud provider of education savings for tertiary education for Jamaican families, is again inviting community members, parent teachers associations and other education bodies, to nominate outstanding Jamaican teachers in Early Childhood Education to receive the Foundation's annual International Excellence Awards for Teachers in Early Childhood Education.

This annual Excellence Awards is held in Jamaica each year, in association with Heritage International Scholarship Trust Foundation. The winners are selected based on criteria which states that: the teachers selected should have made a difference in the lives of their students through their teaching and learning methods and will each receive a generous cash award from the Foundation of US$1,000 along with a congratulatory plaque. This year we are proud to honour three outstanding teachers: Panceta Walker – St. Aloysius Primary, Alecia Saywers- Vaz Preparatory and Dorette Clarke of Black River Primary school.

"The Foundation is delighted to pay tribute to these incredible teachers whose efforts at times are overlooked. Being able to give their communities the opportunity to honour them," says Mr. Jason Maguire, President & Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Education Funds International (Jamaica) Limited, is a pleasure.

The Canadian-based scholarship plan was established in Jamaica over 19 years ago and to date has paid out over US$20.8 million in savings and educational assistance payments to subscribers and students to assist with tertiary education costs.

"The International Excellence Award for Teachers in Early Childhood Education is our way of saying thank you to the teachers who ensure the positive outcomes of our children, allowing them to reach the stage where they can pursue tertiary education," Maguire concluded.
