Heritage Education Funds applauds Jamaicans for their strong values for tertiary education

Feb 06, 2013

Heritage Education Funds International has been proudly assisting Jamaican families to secure a brighter future for their children by saving for their tertiary education. Heritage recognises that this success has been due to the strong support and high regard for tertiary education that Jamaicans have culturally embraced.

The year 2012 marked yet another successful one for Heritage, as the company has seen an increase of 123 percent over the previous year in the number of Jamaican children enrolled into the Heritage International Scholarship Plan. Increasingly, not just parents, but also grandparents and other interested sponsors, are realizing the need to carefully put plans into place to provide their children with a much-needed tertiary education, one of the tools necessary for a successful future.

"Heritage looks forward to 2013, with much anticipation, having surpassed US$100 million in payouts to our international subscribers and children pursuing their tertiary studies" said Jason Maguire, President & Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Education Funds International. "We have proudly paid out over $31 million in savings and educational assistance payments ("scholarships") in 2012, and continue to see a growing trend as more Jamaican families are seeking a solution to paying for tertiary education for their children and embracing our motto - start early and save often", he continued.

Lessening the Burden of Tuition Fees
With the assistance of the Heritage International Scholarship Trust Plan, families can lessen the burden of expensive tuition fees by pre-planning and saving regularly. The flexibility of the Heritage Plan allows families to make monthly, annual or even lump sum payments towards an education savings plan, while taking advantage of the compounding interest. Heritage has encouraged new parents to start saving from birth, and continues to show results that a little goes a long way.

A Jamaican Family Testifies
"Heritage International Scholarship Trust Fund must be the most ingenious, creative and rewarding form of investment any parent could make on behalf of their child" says Leon and Audrey Forte, parents and subscribers since July 1999. "Not only has it given back to parents their investment sum, but also a scholarship payment when it matters most. We have only one regret, and that is not to have invested earlier", added the Fortes.

In continuing to share their story on how Heritage assisted them in providing their children with a college education, the Fortes said they were faced with the challenge of providing for a young family of three boys, and coping with the ability to save for their education. The Fortes also had this to say: "This was always a frightening prospect for us. We were puzzled, confused and sometimes even distraught about how to approach this necessary but daunting task of preparing financially for our children's college education. Then, as if all our thoughts were heard by a representative from this company, Heritage, seemed tailored to our needs."

"We really believe and stand behind the safety and reliability of our product", said Mr. Maguire. "We love to hear from our clients, like the Fortes, about how their smart decision to invest early, successfully gave their children the ability to have a brighter future".
